The training of specialists is an essential approach to recruiting young talent and ensuring high quality standards in early childhood education, particularly in the education professions. Whether full-time, on-the-job or part-time - the diverse organizational forms and offers of the (vocational) colleges in the Hannover Region can address and qualify very different target groups. Daycare centres in particular face major organizational, financial and personnel challenges when it comes to recruiting, retaining and qualifying trainees. Together with the training schools, we would like to exchange experiences with you, highlight examples of good practice and solutions and strengthen practice-oriented networking and cooperation between the stakeholders.
We cordially invite you to a practical day
on Thursday, 08.06.2023 from 14:00 to 17:30
at Freizeitheim Ricklingen.
Ricklinger Stadtweg 1
30459 Hannover
In four workshops, representatives from vocational schools and practical institutions, providers and authorities will report on their experiences and provide impetus for the further development of cooperation between schools and practical settings.
- How can (vocational) colleges and practice partners work with general education schools to provide practical career guidance for the education professions?
- What potential and challenges are there in the recruitment and training of skilled workers with immigration experience?
- What conditions must be created to ensure that in-service and on-the-job training is successful?
At the subsequent Market of Opportunities, you will have the opportunity to ask individual questions and network at the information stands of the training schools, other institutions and network partners.
The target group of the practical day is management, teaching and specialist staff from technical schools and daycare centers as well as from providers who are entrusted with training, recruiting junior staff and specialists.
When registering, you can choose two of the four workshops on offer, which you can find in the attached overview.

Workshop A: Attracting young talent - career guidance in cooperation with general education schools
How can we give young people a practical picture of the education professions and get them interested in them? What opportunities are there for cooperation between (vocational) colleges, practice partners and general schools? On the one hand, the town of Burgdorf, which prepares pupils for social internships in daycare centers with an action day, provides impulses for an exchange of experiences in the World Café. On the other hand, together with the participants, we will present the concept of "training ambassadors for educational professions", in which (vocational) technical school students are prepared for career guidance assignments at general education schools.
Workshop B:Diversity as an opportunity - potential and challenges in recruiting and retaining skilled workers with migration experience
The diversity of our society is also reflected in our daycare teams. Trainees also start their training with very different educational biographies and previous experience. The workshop aims to encourage an exchange of experiences, particularly against the background of immigration: How can the challenges of individualized training be met and the diverse potential of all team members be utilized? Among others, (vocational) students will also have their say.
Workshop C: Occupational and in-service training -Creating organizational and financial conditions
From 01.08.2023, the state of Lower Saxony will grant daycare providers special financial assistance for staff in training upon application in accordance with Section 30 NKiTaG. What opportunities arise for daycare providers with the statutory anchoring? What organizational requirements are necessary for the interaction between the learning location school and the learning location practice in the context of in-service and on-the-job training? Against the background of these questions, the workshop will provide information on special financial assistance and discuss and jointly develop organizational and financial requirements from various perspectives.
Workshop D: Work-based and in-service training -Successful conditions for cooperation between school and practice as learning venues
How is the cooperation between the school as a place of learning and the practice as a place of learning currently structured in work-based and in-service training? What are the conditions for successful cooperation between the two learning venues and practical implementation in the teams? The exchange will begin with reports on the experiences of practice mentors and (vocational) students. Together with representatives from school and practice, we will work out how part-time trainees can manage the balancing act between learning and working in practice.
