Bausparkasse Schwäbisch Hall AG, Hanover area
For us as a training company, university dropouts can be a very interesting target group for a sales-oriented apprenticeship as a bank clerk (IHK) or for an immediate start as a sales representative at Schwäbisch Hall. It would be advantageous if their studies had already included business areas and if they are extroverted, outgoing personalities. For an immediate start as a sales representative, you will also need to have already completed vocational training.
So far, I have hired a university dropout for an apprenticeship at Schwäbisch Hall and his experience has been very positive. He had previously studied several theoretical aspects of economics in his industrial engineering degree and he really likes it. In particular, the practical relevance and the application of the existing economic knowledge is a great pleasure in everyday working life.
Christian Volker sums it up in a nutshell:
The "Umsteigen statt Aussteigen" project is necessary because it creates a link between companies and students - with the personal, targeted involvement of the Hannover Region's employment and economic development agencies.
This makes it very easy to decide on an individual basis whether the transfer offer is really suitable for the student. The project is definitely very good! Because looking to the future, from a company's point of view, the topic of dropping out of university will be a very important link between potential applicants and companies looking for staff in the coming years and therefore a great opportunity for both sides. If this opportunity is communicated to students (at an early stage), everyone involved could be helped effectively and usefully.
"Umsteigen statt Aussteigen" is a project of the Leine-Weser skilled labor alliance and the Hanover region, funded by the European Social Fund.
