Didier
A friend recommended that I get in touch with "Umsteigen statt Aussteigen". I expected the advice I received to help me find a company that wanted to train me in my desired field more quickly and more specifically, as well as tips such as how to apply and how to deal with feedback from employers.
In the end, I got to know the company Ing. Peter Behrens GmbH in Lehrte as a potential employer from the Umsteigen referral network through the Hanover Chamber of Crafts and the special support of Ms. Halwaß.
What do I have now? Well, I want to work practically. The degree course offered too much theory as opposed to practice. Although I was able to put this into practice, in my opinion it was better for me and also for my future to find an area where I can work more practically and which I also enjoy. That's why I opted for the apprenticeship.
Recommendation
"It's better to do a practical apprenticeship if you're not sure yet, as you'll also learn specialist theory here. Apply now!"
His trainer Jens Niemann, Ing. Peter Behrens GmbH, adds:
"Yes, change - I think that's an issue for many trainees or young people, including students. Most of them are stuck on the subject of dropping out of university - I didn't make it, I didn't achieve anything, I'm afraid of disappointing my parents, friends, the environment, and also the stigma of having dropped out of university and saying: 'Too stupid to study'.
The other issue is to do an apprenticeship. And I believe that the vast majority are happy. I keep hearing that many people who have actually completed their studies then go on to do an apprenticeship and are much happier because the practical relevance is greater.
Also the opportunity to learn and practice a profession more quickly, earning money is also an issue. (...) I'm in the company, I'm well-known and can climb the career ladder faster than if I first have to prove myself after my studies."
Didier appeals: Despite the complex training/study jungle and more than 350 training occupations, young high school graduates and students should know exactly what they want to do in their future and decide what they want to do more quickly.
