MetroVRsity

30.01.2025 - Together with the Hannover-Braunschweig-Göttingen-Wolfsburg metropolitan region, VRECH is creating a virtual campus for the universities and colleges in the Hannover region and southern Lower Saxony. Virtual reality enables hybrid learning formats, sustainable collaborations and innovative educational spaces that make higher education future-proof.

The Hannover Region Economic Development Agency, together with the Hannover-Braunschweig-Göttingen-Wolfsburg metropolitan region and Meta, has launched the MetroVRsity project to future-proof higher education with innovative technologies. The MetroVRsity platform created by Victory XR will be used to create a virtual XR campus that will be used by universities, colleges and medical training for seminars and hybrid learning formats.

In addition to Ostfalia University, Clausthal University of Technology and the University of Göttingen, the KRH Academy is also part of the project. This diverse collaboration underlines the potential to revolutionize education in areas such as medicine and technology through immersive learning environments. Virtual lectures will start in the summer semester of 2025. "MetroVRsity shows how digital technologies can redefine education. With partners such as the KRH Akademie and Meta, we are not only creating innovative learning spaces, but also sending a strong signal for the innovative strength of the Hannover Region and Lower Saxony in terms of XR," says VRECH project manager Tim Mittelstaedt.

MetroVRsity is a milestone for the digital transformation of higher education and a prime example of future-oriented cooperation in the metropolitan region.
