From baroque to industry
A borough consisting of seven districts with a population of around 37,000 must inevitably have a high degree of diversity. The Herrenhäuser Markt is the focal point, with a good network of local suppliers and a large number of smaller stores.
Whether tourists and students in Herrenhausen, the railroad facilities in Leinhausen, the Herrenhausen Gardens or the historic monastery in Marienwerder: history and stories characterize the district just as much as modern industry and the 63-hectare port facility in Nordhafen.
Between Mecklenheidestraße and Hansastraße, Volkswagen and Continental AG also stand alongside the active power plant as examples of this industrial, progressive district.
