Bothfeld-Vahrenheide

Economic development in the district

The young savage

With its five districts of Vahrenheide, Sahlkamp, Bothfeld, Isernhagen-Süd and Lahe and an area of around 30 km², Bothfeld-Vahrenheide is the largest district in Hanover in terms of area - and also one of the most densely populated.

Vahrenheide in particular stands for its culturally diversified public and stable participation structures. Both the four barracks sites and the more than a dozen schools are evidence of this.

Both Vahrenheide and Sahlkamp offer centrally located shopping streets as well as numerous leisure activities. The Klein-Buchholz shopping park - the largest retail location - also offers a wide range of shops.

Kirchhorster Strasse is the main access route to the Lahes industrial estate. For example, Swiss Life, HDI insurance and a number of other hotels have settled here. In addition, the industrial estate in Vahrenheide offers one of the few locations for manufacturing industry.
