What is serial refurbishment?
State-of-the-art technology is used to create a 3D scan of the buildings concerned - for example, social housing from the 1970s and 1980s. The overall image is used to create a model, a digital twin of the property, so that entire façade sections including windows and doors as well as roof elements with photovoltaic elements can be prefabricated in the factory and then simply assembled on the actual construction site. The process has already been tried and tested many times in countries such as the Netherlands and France and delivers top results faster and more easily than before.
Advantages for housing associations and residents
On the one hand, the construction work with serial refurbishment on site only takes a few hours in some cases, and on the other hand, the building is climate-neutral in operation after the refurbishment - with a well-insulated façade, photovoltaics on the roof and a heating system with a heat pump.
How does the regional economy benefit?
Medium-sized craft businesses in the timber industry and regional service providers have full order books again as suppliers.
How expensive is serial refurbishment?
Existing promotional measures or promotional loans from KfW and BAFA, as well as existing and new regional promotional programs to be initiated, not only make renovation easier, but also more affordable and more likely to be implemented.
The conference will be attended by manufacturers, energy consultants, architects, tradespeople and service providers from various sectors, as well as the housing industry as a consumer of this innovative solution. Hanover's Head of Economic and Environmental Affairs, Anja Ritschel, Ulf-Birger Franz, Head of Economic Affairs, Transport and Education, and Uwe Bigalke, an expert from the German Energy Agency (dena), will present the political significance and opportunities of serial refurbishment before the participants discuss in various working groups how supply and demand can be managed in order to start implementation as quickly and effectively as possible.
Join us and explore the opportunities of serial refurbishment at the site together with us!
