The joint project of the Hannover Region (economic and employment promotion), the LUH company TEWISS - Technik und Wissen GmbH, the Institute for Assembly Technology at LUH and Vision Lasertechnik GmbH is funded by the state of Lower Saxony as a digital hub and supports manufacturing companies in the use of robot technology in production.

The focus here is on the automationof processes using collaborative lightweight robots (cobots). In the "RoboHub Niedersachsen", specialists and managers from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can gain their own experience with this technology in tailored workshops and develop their first applications. A test environment with various cobots, gripper systems and suitable peripherals was set up in Garbsen for this purpose.

Regional President Steffen Krach and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Holger Blume, Vice President for Research and Transfer at Leibniz Universität Hannover, also gave welcoming speeches.

"The Hannover Region has been actively promoting robotics solutions for almost ten years. We want projects like this to create cross-gender interest in robotics. We want to train skilled workers who have their roots here in the Hannover Region and, ideally, stay here," said Region President Steffen Krach.

The consortium leader of RoboHub and Managing Director of TEWISS GmbH, Dr.-Ing. Jan Jocker, explained the technology of lightweight robots to the guests:

"Cobots are particularly flexible and are also suitable for small-batch production. The potential in companies is huge."

The "RoboHub Niedersachsen" is one of the digital hubs funded by the state of Lower Saxony (Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour, Transport and Digitalization). The project is receiving 194,636 euros.

In addition, theHannover Region'sEconomicand Employment PromotionAgency provides financial supportfor the"RoboHub Niedersachsen". Individualprojects and cooperation projects inregional companies can alsobe fundedwith up to 10,000 euroseach. In addition, the innovation advisors at the Economic and Employment Promotion Agency also support interested companies in acquiring federal or state funding.
