Business development in the region launches innovation competition

08.01.2024 - "Training program of the future" by the employment agency and the region.

Since September 2023, theHanoverregionandthe state capital ofMunich haveestablisheda partnership with theBertelsmann Stiftung'sJobmonitor. Over a period of three years, the Jobmonitor's regional data analysis of online job advertisements will be further developed into a"skilled labor monitoring transformation". The aim is to develop educational innovations for the transformation of the world of work.

The Jobmonitor provides up-to-date insights into the development of skills requirements in regional occupations through big data analyses of 56 million job advertisements. Analyses by the Bertelsmann Stiftung for the Hanover region show a focus on soft skills as future skills in job advertisements. Communication skills (23 percent), critical thinking (18 percent), adaptability (15 percent) and digital skills (8.1 percent) are playing an increasingly important role. The results of a company survey conducted as part of the BMAS-funded project "regioLab - the coordination office for in-company training in the Hanover region" show that companies have difficulties expanding their in-company training in these areas in particular, mainly due to a lack of time and suitable offers.

In response to this, the Hannover Region, together with the Hannover Employment Agency, is launching the "Continuing Education Program of the Future" innovation competition. The competition is aimed at all further education providers who want to enter into new collaborations for this purpose. We are looking for joint programs that enable flexible entry over a longer period of time and offer both specialist
qualification modules as well as the teaching of interdisciplinary skills. The winners of the competition will receive prize money of 10,000 euros.

Application deadline is January 31, 2024, more information can be found here.
