Sustainable building for the future
The Hanover-based green start-up "hydde" has launched with an idea for the sustainable construction of wooden houses. The six founders launched an innovative and flexible modular system made of wooden materials in May 2022.
The challenge in this area: metal-free joints between veneer wood panels. The start-up approached the Hannover Region Economic Development Agency because they wanted to implement a new test procedure for these joints. Through several consultations and active networking with a future partner, hydde was able toobtainfinancial supportfrom the"Hannover Region Green Economy"fundingprogramof the Hannover Region Economic Development Agency.
Co-founder Lena Bender reports:
"From the HRGE-funded exploration project, we were able to test an important step towards the recyclability of our construction method and enter into a partnership with the Beck company, which will initiate the further development of the technology for future applications. "In parallel to the financial support, further funding could be applied for through the advice of the economic development agency and the technical development could be driven forward.
Sustainability and digitalization are the guiding principles of the green start-up hydde and are underpinned by the automated production of the wooden huts. "With hydde, we want to make a contribution to social rethinking and raise awareness of resource consumption and environmental protection." The wooden huts from hydde GmbH are highly flexible, as they can be extended and dismantled as required. The company name "hydde" is based on the word "hut" and is intended to indicate a clever and space-efficient design.
The "hydde" wooden houses are offered on the one hand as residential buildings for private customers in a non-urban context, as well as extensions and additions to existing properties. On the other hand, "hydde" strengthens community structures in regions and cities, for example through innovative school buildings or accommodation for the public sector. The start-up is also involved in the project development of vacation and residential parks as well as building groups. "hydde" is also increasingly involved in the development of exciting housing projects such as multi-generation houses that combine different concepts such as car sharing, decentralized energy supply and coworking.
