Social start-up idea: BrALI shapes the innovative working world of tomorrow
The world of work is changing and new places and new formats are needed to come together again. The startup BrALI advises and supports teams and companies in planning and implementing the transformation of the way they work. It also builds bridges to inspiring (third) places and concepts. At the same time, important alternatives to the office and home office are created. BrALI's motto is therefore "Offsite - instead of office or online".
The BrALI concept incorporates many things that founder Vanessa Thielemann did before she started BrALI in 2022 - initially as an organizer of group trips for remote workers in the B2C segment. From event and tourism management, to agility and innovation management, to consulting experience and festival management. Vanessa Thielemann also has a passion for exciting places in rural areas.
The increase in digital collaboration offers many opportunities - but also challenges. Informal exchanges are decreasing, while calendars are filling up and mental stress is increasing as a result of this concentration. We therefore not only need new skills, but also strong teams to counter these challenges. This is where BrALI's formats come in, identifying the respective needs and developing suitable formats such as team retreats, offsites and team workations. In addition, the locations recommended for the get-together are also accessible without a flight. A shared experience therefore does not have to be far away. This is also reflected in the name: BrALI is the result of the "Brandenburg rather than Bali" approach - although the start-up is now active throughout Germany and beyond.
The Social Innovation Center of the Hannover Region Employment Promotion Agency provided BrALI with strong support in the initial stages, particularly with questions about the target group and positioning, business model development and funding opportunities for the initial phase in the region. The Social Innovation Center also helped the startup with networking with other founders, relevant players and stakeholders - well beyond the time of the batch.
The concepts are aimed at companies that are undergoing change. Many small and medium-sized companies in particular are facing challenges such as a shortage of skilled workers and the associated attractiveness as an employer. This also raises questions for many about where to work and how teams and companies can be kept together today - even if they may no longer all see each other at the same location every day. BrALI therefore not only advises remote companies, but also companies that want to embark on a new culture of collaboration and try out new formats.
