Tech-Meetup #2: Using cobots for efficient and sustainable processes

Collaborative lightweight robots (cobots) are a technology that can support companies in speeding up production processes, reducing material waste or even as a third shift despite a shortage of skilled workers. Meetup #2 is dedicated to successful examples of their use in companies.

Collaborative lightweight robots (cobots) are a technology that can help companies speed up production processes or reduce material waste. Both mean that, for the first time, processes with small batch sizes or quantities can be automated economically.

In addition, the use of mobile systems enables the implementation of a third shift despite the omnipresent shortage of skilled workers. In some cases, it is even possible to restock work processes. This ultimately results in more resilient supply chains.

Against this backdrop, the Hannover Region Economic and Employment Promotion Agency andTEWISS- Technik und Wissen GmbHwill be presenting current developments and examples of the use of cobots in SMEs at Tech-Meetup #1. Both organizations are part of the "RoboHub Niedersachsen" consortium, which also includes Vision Lasertechnik GmbH and the Institute for Assembly Technology.

Participants will learn to what extent lightweight robots have proven to be a successful addition to existing systems. Specific project examples from several companies will illustrate the successes achieved and highlight the obstacles that have arisen in detail. The event will be rounded off with a tour of the RoboHub Niedersachsen premises.
