As a teacher, she helps people to develop their creative potential, to understand and love music and even to release blockages and reduce stress. So if you want to start now with good intentions and want to start playing the piano again, for example, Anna is the right person for you.
Anna, what is special about your Academy?
I would like to pass on my knowledge and experience from the past decades.Understanding music plays a very important role in this. What does the music do to me? What emotions does it want to arouse? What does the music want to tell me? Even as a little girl, I wanted to understand and communicate music. For me, Mozart's music was always more than just a beautiful sound. With me, you learn why understanding is so important for your own development. The method I work with is a living process in constant transformation, adapting to the influences, goals and needs of my students.
My lessons are interactive and often integrate other art forms such as painting, poetry, dance or photography. My students have often told me that they find my lessons a creative process that is fun and enables them to learn effectively.
It even works very well online. I started in the middle of the Corona period and my students are now traveling all over the world. But if you want, you can also come to my office in List for individual lessons.
Who is your target group?
Actually everyone who likes music, plays instruments or wants to learn to play again, but also people who want to develop their creativity. This also includes founders and entrepreneurs. From music students with exam nerves to amateur musicians who suddenly no longer enjoy practising. I offer a wide range of services, from supporting the musical and artistic development of children to helping them get back into music and, if required, I can also prepare them for musical competitions, exams or auditions.
Can you afford to take lessons from a musicologist with a doctorate?
Definitely! I even had to change my mindset at the beginning so as not to waste too much of my time. After all, the UnderstandingMusic.academy is now my full-time job. My work should definitely be appreciated. To give you an idea: My fee is roughly what you pay for good craftsmanship.
For students, I also offer an online club "Understanding Music" in German and English. You then pay significantly less for workshops in small groups.
What tips do you have for other founders?
Even if you do something out of passion, it must be clear that you want to earn money with it. So don't feel guilty about having your services rewarded accordingly.
True to the motto "what costs nothing is worth nothing", you must not sell yourself short, even if it is just as much fun.
How did hannoverimpuls support you?
It was and is all very professional and simply wonderful on a human level.
My husband did the "Fit4Chef" course in 2017 and also recommended it to me. Today, the course is called "Gründung kompakt" - you simply have to do it! The lecturers are good, the content is very helpful and I was happy to take up the opportunity for individual coaching.
