The SCIENCE AREA 30X network is growing
Getting to know each other and networking were the main components of the first company breakfast for the institutes and companies based in SCIENCE AREA 30X in February 2023. The event was hosted by automotive supplier FORVIA, which offered a company tour afterwards as a special highlight of the meeting.
Numerous companies accepted the invitation from the state capital of Hanover. More than 40 people met for morning networking. Anja Ritschel, Head of Environmental and Economic Affairs of the state capital, welcomed the participants together with Gregor Knauer, Vice President R&D of Faurecia, a company of the FORVIA Group. In her welcoming address, Ms. Ritschel emphasized how important a science and technology park is for Hanover as a business location. She also pointed out the importance of networks, because without personal contacts, the path to new ideas and possibly joint projects is considerably more difficult.
In his presentation, Gregor Knauer highlighted FORVIA's leading global position as an automotive supplier. He also explained the company's reasons for locating in SCIENCE AREA 30X, which, in addition to good transport links and the innovative business environment, now also makes it easier to recruit skilled workers. Gabriele Zingsheim, head of the city's business development department, then reported on current space developments in the area and the high demand for the remaining space. Afterwards, the lively discussion continued in the FORVIA conference room. The time for this was used extensively. The event ended at the FORVIA tour with a demonstration of a driver's seat crash test that was well worth seeing. The network meeting was initiated by the state capital's economic development agency.
Over the coming months, Hannoverimpuls, the private business development agency of the region and the state capital of Hannover, will be inviting the companies based in the SCIENCE AREA 30X to local events. Here, the companies can present themselves, new projects and other challenges and discuss them with the participants. This should increase the likelihood of further cooperation talks and, in the best case, even joint projects.
