Start from the farm
After seven months of renovation work, the country's largest makerspace has officially opened its doors for the first time on the former Kaufhof first floor. From June 1, people will be discussing, marveling, experimenting, teaching and playing.
The aufhof is much more than an experiment: a new beginning, the chance to try something new and help revitalize the city centre. Thanks to the owner SIGNA, we have the opportunity to use the vacant space in a flexible and citizen-oriented way. The events are organized in cooperation with the state capital of Hanover, Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts and hannoverimpuls.

To begin with, three exhibitions will be running in the courtyard between Osterstrasse and Schmiedestrasse. Photographer Uwe Stelter is showing pictures from his "One City" series. The "Tea Bag Slips Exhibition" by the three artists Kerstin Bernsdorff, Juta Ehlers and Susanne Dreyer can be seen until June 27. In it, thousands of tea bag slips form a collage to create a panorama of Hanover. In addition, the exhibition "Klatsch+Match" shows 22 people in eleven pictures - an art dialog as part of the inclusive theater festival Klatschmohn.
