Miriam, how did you come up with the idea of developing chocolates for dogs?
As a passionate dog owner, I was always on the lookout for novel and very special treats. I couldn't find anything that really appealed to me, even though the market for snacks is huge. So I developed my own dog chocolates. I received support from a vet who specializes in animal nutrition and dietetics.
What makes your product so special?
In addition to their rewarding character, Pralipaws have a very special benefit: Pre- and probiotics are added to the core, which stabilize the sensitive bacteria in the dog's intestines. I use offal as the basis for the dog chocolates, which is usually disposed of by butchers but is of food quality. It is important to me that no other animal dies to feed my dog. The Pralipaws are therefore sustainable, taste good to the dog, are healthy and also look great.
What has changed for you since the award ceremony in spring 2022?
Actually everything, because a fixed idea turned into the foundation of my own small company. I only submitted the idea to the competition. With the winnings, I was able to set up and produce my first chocolates. I set up a small production facility in the Hanover region especially for this purpose.
The Pralipaws have been available in selected dog boutiques and specialist stores from Timmendorf to Chiemsee and, of course, in my online store for a few weeks now. I am particularly proud of my first Advent calendar, which contains a surprise every day to sweeten the Advent season for both dog and owner.

What are your tips for other founders?
Believe in yourself and your idea. Stay authentic and admit your weaknesses. You can't be perfect at everything, it's okay to get help and advice. Above all, however, you need patience and staying power.

Pralipaws would not be on the market today without our participation in the competition, including all the preparations and coaching. The collaboration was totally pleasant. No matter what questions I asked, I always got quick answers and information. I can only recommend everyone to take part in the competition, because the coaching is an important part of taking your own idea to the next level.
