GreenComp: New paths for sustainable future skills

WORKSHOP ATTRACTIVE EMPLOYERS

As part of the "WERKSTATT ATTRAKTIVE ARBEITGEBER", the Hannover Region's economic and employment promotion agency presented innovative approaches and solutions that help companies to actively shape the challenges of tomorrow.

At a time when sustainability and environmental protection are increasingly coming into focus, many questions arise for entrepreneurs. How can they contribute to protecting our planet and at the same time position themselves as attractive employers for future-oriented talent? Against this backdrop, the Hannover Region's Economic and Employment Promotion Agency presented innovative approaches and solutions as part of the "ATTRACTIVE EMPLOYER WORKSHOP" to help companies actively shape the challenges of tomorrow.

At the center of the workshop isthe"GreenComp. The European sustainability competence framework", a groundbreaking competence framework published by the European Commission in 2022. This framework aims to define and promote essential competencies that are necessary to effectively develop and implement sustainable and environmentally friendly measures. The development of these skills is crucial not only for a company to operate in a climate-neutral and future-proof manner, but also to stand out as an attractive employer.

The workshop handout presents a summary of the topics covered. This includes a detailed overview of GreenComp and practical methods for strengthening these skills in employees. You will also find inspiring examples of values such as appreciation through biographical work, fairness towards current and future generations with regard to sustainability, respect and the understanding of people as part of nature. Future skills are highlighted that are crucial for shaping alternative and sustainable future scenarios, for adaptability and for explorative and critical thinking.

Through the methods presented and the jointly developed pool of ideas, companies gain valuable insights into how they can effectively engage their teams and lead them on the path to a more sustainable future. Immerse yourself with us in the world of sustainability skills and discover how you as a company can make a positive contribution in the Hannover Region and beyond, while at the same time increasing your attractiveness as an employer.
