Tourism in the Hannover Region stands for a unique mix of urban flair with sights, trade fairs and cultural and sporting events and idyllic nature and sustainability .
Hanover's tourism industry has largely recovered from the disruptive coronavirus years. In 2023, the region recorded 4.05 million overnight stays in the city and surrounding area. This figure is on a par with 2018 and is also the second-highest all-time figure after 2019 (4.25 million). The state capital of Hanover already recorded a record 2.36 million overnight stays in 2023. In addition, there were 1.69 million guests who stayed overnight in the surrounding municipalities.
