Working groups of the Skilled Workers Alliance
In the area of "school-to-work and school-to-university transition", cooperation between the stakeholders is being intensified with regard to young people's career guidance and ability to study.
The aims are to reduce the school dropout rate, improve young people's ability to train and improve their ability to study, thereby reducing the dropout rate. Particular importance is attached to strengthening dual training and taking on trainees.
The working group is implemented as part of the Regional Education Advisory Board. There is no separate working group within the Fachkräfteallianz Hannover.
The "Family and career" field of action focuses on improving the framework conditions that can be decisive for increasing the participation and employment rate of skilled workers. Priority topics are a stronger family orientation in the organization of the workplace and working hours and the expansion of care and support services for children and family members requiring care.
The topic "Further training for companies, especially SMEs" covers areas of action that contribute to strengthening the willingness and quality of further training, making more comprehensive use of the potential workforce (especially older workers) and formulating measures to increase the attractiveness of jobs and employers. This also includes guiding university drop-outs into vocational training in order to recruit new skilled workers.

This topic area aims to improve the welcoming culture and the framework conditions for immigrant skilled workers. The existing range of measures and project approaches in this area will be further developed in order to create transparency about the diverse activities and to be able to explore a focus of the measures with regard to the recruitment and retention of skilled workers.
Cooperation between companies and universities is an important starting point for retaining highly qualified specialists.
The aim is to supplement and further develop existing measures between universities, public administration, educational institutions and industry, in particular to improve interfaces between the parties involved (e.g. Science Initiative, University/Trade Union Coordination Office, Lower Saxony Open University Service Center) and to ensure permeability between vocational and academic education in both directions.
